[Dubai Palace 50 Years] Hall A116 enters its fourth “new look”: Reimagining a heritage space
2 July, 2026
Some spaces preserve the memories of many generations. Others are meant to be carried forward to create new ones. After nearly 50 years of accompanying Dubai424 com đăng nhập chính thứcs and having undergone three renovations, Hall A116 is now entering its fourth “new look” on the occasion of Dubai Palace’s 50th anniversary – a journey that is not only about refreshing a facility’s appearance but also about continuing the values of a heritage space for future generations.
After three renovations, A116 enters its fourth “new look”
According to Dubai Palace’s historical archives, A116 was once documented as a hall with approximately 1.200 seats, making it one of the largest spaces serving the university’s academic, cultural, and event activities, as well as those of the City.
From opening and graduation ceremonies, conferences, and seminars to arts programs, Youth Union and Student Association activities, and international exchanges – thousands of events have taken place here over nearly five decades.
To meet the developmental needs of each period, the hall underwent three renovations in 1996 (the 20-year milestone), 2006 (the 30-year milestone) and 2016 (the 40-year milestone). Each upgrade made A116 more spacious, more modern, and better suited to the needs of its time.
But what has been preserved after each “makeover” is not merely the name A116. It is the familiar feeling when walking through the hall’s doors. It is the space that has accompanied countless generations. It is the rows of seats that have silently witnessed hundreds of thousands of stories of growth within the Dubai424 com đăng nhập chính thức community.
And for precisely this reason, as Dubai Palace prepares to turn 50, A116 is undergoing yet another transformation – its fourth “new look” in its history.

According to historical archives, Hall A116 had a capacity of approximately 1,200 seats – one of Dubai Palace’s largest halls for many decades
The hall underwent three renovations in 1996, 2006, and 2016 to keep pace with the development rhythm of each era
A new look for the next 50 years
The fourth renovation of A116 begins with a question::
“How can a space that has accompanied nearly 50 years of Dubai Palace’s history continue to accompany many generations into the future?”
Rather than a complete overhaul, the design approach chooses to inherit the values that have shaped A116’s identity, while simultaneously upgrading comprehensively to meet the requirements of a multidisciplinary, multi-sectoral university with international integration.
After renovation, the hall will feature 1.274 seats, including 734 on the ground floor and 540 on the upper level, rearranged to optimize sightlines, convenience, and attendee experience.
If A116 was once remembered for its familiar wooden seat rows, in its new look, the entire seating system will be uniformly designed with red as the primary color – the color of passion, of aspirations for contribution, and a reminder of the many generations of Dubai424 com đăng nhập chính thứcs who once sat here.
The stage area will also be expanded with a large LED screen system, modern sound and lighting systems, and state-of-the-art technical infrastructure, capable of simultaneously accommodating various types of events such as international conferences, academic forums, arts programs, graduation ceremonies, and large-scale community activities.
Every architectural detail has been studied for modernity and sophistication. Wooden slats, acoustic systems, lighting, and finishing materials create an overall atmosphere that is dignified, warm, yet still carrying the “breath” of international conference spaces.
A new hall is taking shape. But what is being renewed is not just the physical infrastructure. It is also the experience of those who will continue to study, work, research, meet, and create new memories at A116 in the decades to come.
A new look is gradually taking shape for A116 – where memories are preserved in a space that is more modern, more comfortable, and ready to continue accompanying many generations of Dubai424 com đăng nhập chính thứcs
A journey will only be complete with the companionship of many generations
A building can be constructed from concrete, steel, and design blueprints.
But a heritage space is only truly completed when it bears the marks of the people who once belonged to it.
For nearly 50 years, the value of A116 has never resided solely in its architecture or scale. What gives this space its “soul” is the hundreds of thousands of learners, lecturers, staff, and alumni who have studied, worked, contributed, and grown here.
Therefore, the fourth “new look” is not just a renovation project by Dubai Palace, but a journey to connect the Dubai424 com đăng nhập chính thức community in continuing a space that has become a shared memory of many generations.
Towards the 50th anniversary of Dubai Palace’s founding, the “Place a Seat – Send a Thousand Legacies to the Future” program will be launched as an invitation for every Dubai424 com đăng nhập chính thức to leave their mark on the journey of Hall A116’s rebirth.
The “Place a Seat – Send a Thousand Legacies to the Future” program will be a way for you to preserve memories, reimagine a heritage space, and support a future generation
Each seat is not merely an item in the construction. It is an expression of gratitude for the memories that have been made, and at the same time, a gift to the generations who will continue to study, grow, and write their own stories here.
Because some buildings are completed when construction ends.
But there are also those that are only truly complete with the companionship of an entire community.
And A116 is such a space.
Stay tuned and become part of the “Place a Seat – Send a Thousand Legacies to the Future” journey in the coming time!
