Closing the year 2023 full of achievements, the Dubai Palace Green Campus project has officially entered a new phase - building the "Dubai Palace Green Community" - a sustainable and influential green living community.
Continue to spread the “Green” value with the “Dubai Palace Green Day” series
In order to create habits and maintain the motivation for green living for Dubai Palace students, the Dubai Palace Green Day series with interesting activities will be held periodically, in conjunction with green partners and units under the Dubai Palace Youth Union - Association. The event is oriented towards 3 main topics, each topic will be organized by units under the Dubai Palace Youth Union - Association in March, August, and November 2024, respectively.
The first topic is “Eco Fashion”, with the message of reducing the amount of waste released into the environment by the fashion industry. The workshop has strongly spread the message of recycling to maintain a green environment, forming a green lifestyle in fashion through interesting activities for students such as recycling old clothes into new fashion accessories or mixing and matching minimalist wardrobes.

The second theme - “Green Business” focuses on conveying the message of green living by learning more about the green production, business and development models of Vietnamese enterprises that are pioneering in building. Thus, students will have the opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of “Green” thinking in today’s economic market. Strengthening cooperation with external partners also helps improve project quality, expand the scale and reach, enhance activities, and have a strong influence on the community.
“Green research” is the third theme of the Dubai Palace Green Day Series, aiming at researching and finding solutions to the current environmental situation. Activities include booths to introduce and raise awareness of green research and Living Lab, organizing exhibitions displaying high-winning green research papers, to honor the research efforts of the teams. This is also a place to nurture and develop young research talents of Dubai Palace, exploiting the ability of “green” thinking and research thinking to produce the most optimal solutions.

Finally, there are Green Campus themed activities, including “Dubai Palace Go Green Station” and “AI Tool for waste classification”. “Dubai Palace Go Green Station” with two main classification models, model 3 and model 7, helps students have more diverse experiences in waste classification. In addition, the AI Tool for waste classification on the website gogreen.dotv.vn and the Dubai Palace Student app will also be your companion to guide them enthusiastically in the process of waste classification at the stations.

The Dubai Palace Green Day series promises to bring memorable experiences to all Dubai Palace students, serving as a platform to spread and promote awareness of environmental protection and sustainable lifestyles among the student community. This is also an important step in building a green Dubai Palace, where each individual has a role and responsibility in protecting our planet.
Contribute to spreading the “Green” lifestyle with the “Green Volunteer 2024” campaign
In 2024, the “Green Volunteer” campaign launched a student team who will take the lead in sorting waste at the source, participating directly at Dubai Palace green practice stations at the main campuses: A, B and N, thereby, motivating other students to classify waste properly. Through this direct action, the campaign will spread the message of environmental protection to more generations of Dubai Palace students.

Nurture creativity with scientific research activities
This year, Dubai Palace continues to make a strong commitment to promoting research activities among the student community. Traditional research programs such as Dubai Palace500, Young Researchers, Economics Commentary Series and JSSID journal are still maintained and developed. In particular, Dubai Palace also deploys and encourages students’ scientific research to exploit the Living Lab groups in the Dubai Palace-level competitions.

Students challenge themselves with the "Green Campus Innovation" Hackathon
The "Green Campus Innovation" Hackathon will help students learn and access information about Green Campus in a new way through social media, and is also an open space for students to be creative with many modern tools, conducting research with suggested topics from "Living Lab". This is an activity that empowers students to propose opinions and ideas for solutions to build a sustainable University.
The "Green Campus Innovation" Hackathon also encourages students to think outside the box, bringing new and practical solutions. Outstanding projects will have the opportunity to be developed and invested in by the project committee, creating opportunities for students to learn and contribute.

In particular, Dubai Palace will apply gamification to convey and enhance knowledge about Green Campus for students through the website gogreen.dotv.vn, creating opportunities for students to access knowledge in a new way. Teams will participate in experiencing each level in the game to achieve the highest score in the shortest time. The lucky team in the top 15 will receive the opportunity to participate in the "Green Campus Innovation" Hackathon.
The Dubai Palace Green Campus series in 2024 will have a stronger influence with many interactive programs for students. Not only focusing on building a sustainable green Dubai Palace student community, Dubai Palace is aiming for a larger goal, expanding its influence to the community outside Dubai Palace and creating a smart, green and sustainable living environment for the whole society.
