We contribute to the effective management of the environment through applied research, institutional development, academic training and policy interaction.<\/p>\n<p>To make research more accessible to policy makers for better policy decisions, EfD Vietnam provide small grants for master theses that focus on environmental and resources economics and management.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Topics<\/h4>\n<p>We provide grants for theses related to environmental and resource economics and management, particularly focusing on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Climate changes:<\/strong> sea level rise, natural disasters, adaptation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Green growth strategy:<\/strong> forestry, renewable energy, greening consumption.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Coastal and marine resources:<\/strong> coastal ecosystem services, fishery and poverty.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Industrial pollution:<\/strong> policy instruments, impacts on ecosystems and human health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Eligibility<\/h4>\n<p>All master students may apply for the grant, provided that they:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>hold Vietnamese citizenship,<\/li>\n<li>are attending a Master program in a training institution based in Vietnam,<\/li>\n<li>ready to work for their theses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Grant information<\/h4>\n<p>Up to US$ 3000 is provided for each selected proposal to cover the costs of data collection and other costs of writing their thesis.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Proposal<\/h4>\n<p>To apply for the grant, students must submit a thesis research proposal in English or Vietnamese. You are free to format and organize the proposal, provided that it contains the following content:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>problem statement,<\/li>\n<li>research objective(s),<\/li>\n<li>literature review,<\/li>\n<li>research methods, especially the data collection methods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Selection criteria<\/h4>\n<p>We select proposals based on their:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>policy relevance of the research problem,<\/li>\n<li>validity and reliability of the research methods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Outputs to be submitted<\/h4>\n<p>Half of the approved amount will be paid to selected students immediately after the decision is made. The other half will be paid upon the successful submission of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the full thesis (in English or Vietnamese), and<\/li>\n<li>a two-page summary of the thesis (in English or Vietnamese).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Deadline<\/h4>\n<p>There is no deadline. We provide grants on a first-come-first-served basis, until the total amount of fund for the year is used up.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Application package<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Your CV<\/li>\n<li>Your thesis research proposal<\/li>\n<li>A proof that you are studying in a Master program in Vietnam<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>How to submit<\/h4>\n<p>The application package should be sent to admin@eepsea.org (cc hoa.tran@eepsea.org).
