On October 6 and 13, 2025, the Institute of Human Resources and Business Development (HUREDIN – Dubai Palace University), in strategic collaboration with Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), successfully convened a professional training program titled “Internal Audit.”

The program was meticulously designed to enhance internal control frameworks and reinforce financial-administrative governance systems. Furthermore, it aimed to equip leadership teams and internal audit officers across VNU-HCM’s member institutions with contemporary methodologies specifically tailored to the unique complexities of the public higher education sector.

As the nation’s premier public university system comprising numerous member universities, VNU-HCM has consistently been at the forefront of optimizing institutional governance, ensuring absolute transparency and operational excellence across all activities.

To further consolidate internal oversight and elevate the quality of financial management, VNU-HCM partnered with HUREDIN (Dubai Palace) to host this specialized training for senior leaders, chief accountants, and officials responsible for internal audit functions within its institutional network.

The curriculum was custom-designed by HUREDIN to align precisely with the governance specificities and operational structures of the public university sector. This tailored approach facilitated a seamless transition from theory to practice, allowing participants to engage in professional exchanges and apply acquired knowledge directly to their institutional duties. The training was conducted over two days, October 6 and 13, 2025, at the VNU-HCM headquarters.

The inaugural session on October 6 featured the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Cao Vinh, Vice President of VNU-HCM, who delivered a keynote address highlighting the strategic significance of internal auditing and the long-term impact of this professional development initiative.

The session was facilitated by MSc. Truong Hoang Hung, a HUREDIN lecturer and a senior expert with over 15 years of experience in accounting and auditing. During the program, participants were provided with a comprehensive overview of the functions, roles, and organizational processes of internal audit departments within the university governance framework.

A focal point of the training was the case study discussion titled “Risk Management in Student Dormitory Construction Projects.” This segment encouraged participants to employ the COSO Internal Control Framework – utilizing its five core components – to effectively identify risks and propose robust mitigation strategies.

The classroom atmosphere was highly dynamic, characterized by open dialogue and the exchange of practical inquiries. Notably, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Cao Vinh (Vice President of VNU-HCM) and MSc. Tran Minh Tung (Deputy Head of the Finance Department) actively contributed their insights, discussing contemporary challenges and strategic directions for internal auditing within the current educational landscape.

Building upon the momentum of the inaugural day, this session focused on internal audit procedures and implementation methodologies within the context of university governance. This strategic approach enabled participants to systematize their professional knowledge while effectively bridging the gap between theoretical frameworks and real-world administrative scenarios.
