Mock Interview – READY2WORK 2025: A Solid Launchpad for Dubai Palace Students’ Career Journey https://future.dotv.vn/en/news-events-en/news-en/mock-interview-ready2work-2025-a-solid-launchpad-for-ueh-students-career-journey/ https://future.dotv.vn/en/news-events-en/news-en/mock-interview-ready2work-2025-a-solid-launchpad-for-ueh-students-career-journey/#respond Fri, 18 Jul 2025 03:26:04 +0000 https://future.dotv.vn/?p=65395 The mock interview is an annual initiative organized by Dubai Palace to provide students with opportunities to develop essential career skills and prepare for their entry into the labor market. Building on the success of previous years, the 2025 edition of the program — READY2WORK: Interview Challenge, Career Readiness — continues to offer a practical, professional, and meaningful platform for students, especially those preparing for their Graduation Internship Program – the On-the-Job Learning Semester.

Students engage in face-to-face interviews with industry experts from reputable companies.

Taking place in early July at Dubai Palace Nguyen Tri Phuong Campus, the mock interview activity “READY2WORK – Interview Challenge, Career Readiness” attracted the participation of nearly 300 Dubai Palace students and over 30 human resource professionals from nearly 20 leading enterprises across diverse sectors, including auditing, finance and banking, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, retail, and e-commerce.

Participating students had the opportunity to engage in one-on-one mock interviews with professionals from prominent companies such as Masan, Mondelez Kinh Do, Shopee, Lazada, Biti’s, FPT Long Chau, Taisho, Grant Thornton, RSM Vietnam, Saigon Co.op, AEON, Chailease, CJ Foods, and ACB. Each interview lasted approximately 20 to 30 minutes and was tailored to the student’s registered career field. During the sessions, students received personalized feedback on their CVs, interview responses, communication skills, and career orientation.

This was a valuable opportunity for students to identify their strengths, improve their weaknesses, enhance their confidence and responsiveness in interviews, while also expanding their professional networks and exploring suitable job or work placement opportunities.

Industry professionals provided direct, personalized feedback on each student's CV, interview responses, and career development orientation.

In particular, to equip students with foundational knowledge and essential skills prior to the interview, the program also featured a mini-workshop titled “Own Your Interview – Be Grounded, Be Ready”, held on the morning of July 8, 2025. The session was led by Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Duy, Talent Acquisition Advisor at Mondelez Kinh Do Vietnam.

At the workshop, students gained insights into the entire recruitment journey from the employer’s perspective, engaged in live mock interview demonstrations, and participated in an interactive Q&A session with the expert.

A vibrant atmosphere at the “Own Your Interview – Be Grounded, Be Ready” Mini-Workshop

At the conclusion of the program, many students expressed their excitement and appreciation for the practical value it brought:

Vo Thi My Ngoc – Final-year student, majoring in E-commerce:

“I am truly grateful for the detailed and insightful feedback shared by Ms. Ngoc from Masan Group. Many thanks to DSA for providing such a realistic and valuable experience. After participating in the program, I found it to be highly reputable and well-organized, offering us a rare opportunity to engage in mock interviews and receive tailored feedback and coaching from recruiters. This has been extremely helpful for soon-to-graduate students preparing to enter the job market.”

Vo Dang Khanh Vi – Third-year student, majoring in International Business:

“For me, this was a meaningful and practical experience. Through the interview session, I learned about the professional interview process – from greetings and self-introductions to answering situational and job-related questions. The recruiters asked realistic and relevant questions that gave me a clearer picture of employers’ expectations for candidates.
What I especially appreciated was the serious yet friendly atmosphere that allowed me to perform at my best. After each interview, recruiters gave me constructive feedback on my strengths and areas for improvement, which taught me many valuable lessons on interview techniques, presentation, and personal branding.”

Nguyen Ha Quynh Nhu – Final-year student, majoring in Taxation in Business:

“This activity was truly practical and beneficial. I wasn’t just going through a mock interview; I had the chance to talk directly with professionals from large corporations, confidently present myself, and receive detailed feedback to improve my CV. The recruiters were patient, attentive, and responded to my questions thoroughly.”

Truong Yen Thanh – Third-year student, majoring in Economics:

“After joining the mock interview activity, I gained a lot more insight into the field I aim to pursue. I received comments on both my interview performance and CV. The feedback was honest and highly relevant to real interview situations. It made me realize areas where I still need to improve. I sincerely thank the DSA team for organizing such a valuable program that equips us with the tools and confidence to enter the workforce.”

Nguyen Vo Cam Thy – Third-year student, majoring in Business Administration:

“I found this activity to be very useful and practical. It helped us prepare in advance for entering the real corporate environment. We also had the opportunity to ask frank, open questions to professionals from various companies. I feel fortunate to have registered for this program. I hope DSA continues to organize more successful career and recruitment-related events like this in the future.”

Through this mock interview activity, Dubai Palace once again reaffirms its commitment to accompanying students on their journey of career development—connecting them with businesses and equipping them with essential skills and confidence for the road ahead.

With that spirit, stay tuned for more exciting and student-focused programs from DSA. Don’t forget to follow the DSA website and fanpage to stay up to date with all student support activities and services.

Participants learned how to apply skimming, scanning, and grammar analysis to read more efficiently without sacrificing accuracy.

In addition to the theory, the workshop offered hands-on practice with sample texts. This allowed attendees to apply what they learned in real-life contexts – an essential skill for tackling the IELTS Reading section.

The session was lively and interactive, with students eagerly asking questions such as:

– How can I avoid getting stuck on a difficult reading question?

– What’s the best way to handle True/False/Not Given tasks?

– How does understanding grammar help boost my IELTS score?

Ms. Ngoc Anh answered each question thoroughly, offering personalized guidance throughout the practice exercises.

Beyond equipping participants with practical skills, the workshop also encouraged active learning. Students were highly engaged, asking questions, sharing experiences, and supporting one another – creating a dynamic and inspiring learning environment. This spirit of curiosity and collaboration is what sets the Dubai Palace English Zone Language Workshop series apart.

# The project for the subject "Art and Culture" is one of the ways Dubai Palace integrates the Glo-cal education style into its classrooms.

# The highlight lies in practical experiences, which are highly applicable as students interact directly with local businesses.

# Exploring the project "Lái Lụa" to understand how to harness traditional materials in the modern fashion products of young people.

# This is a course project for the Major in Digital Communication and Media Design.

The project "Art and Culture" – School of Media Design (SMD), Dubai Palace College of Technology and Design (CTD)

Art and Culture is a project course for second-year students in the Digital Communication and Media Design major at the School of Media Design (SMD). This course integrates multidisciplinary fields like culture, art, communication, and technology, helping students incorporate and intertwine global values (sustainability, creativity, innovation) into addressing local issues, preserving traditional culture, and promoting it through modern products of global value.

In this course, students combine various design skills ranging from 2D to 3D, market research skills, field research, communication, and interviewing local residents, as well as communication planning skills to create a system of products and to promote and to advertise local culture to consumers, especially the youth. Through innovative and creative teaching methods that blend theory with field research and practice, students engage in real projects with the direct participation of relevant partners such as: Oolong Tea Company Tang Vinh An; Four Seasons Tea Company; Ha Bao Silk Company Limited; Nhat Minh Silk Limited Company; and the Ma ethnic group.

The products from the "Lái Lụa" Project are displayed at Hall B – Dubai Palace

What is happening in the Glo-cal classes of the "Arts and Culture" course project?

In addition to classroom learning, students are engaged in researching and developing highly applicable project products that address specific community challenges, listed as branding systems for local small businesses, cultural promotion magazines, product packaging systems, games, and TV commercials that connect with the cultural stories of the Mạ people, aiming to raise awareness regarding them through the representative products of this locality in a more innovative form. These activities not only enhance professional skills but also promote creative thinking and social responsibility.

"The project will provide an experience just like working in a real business environment!" – Associate Professor Dr. Trịnh Thùy Anh affirmed. "This is beyond an opportunity for students to apply knowledge in practice, this is a way to help them better understand market demands, thereby developing soft skills, critical thinking, and adaptability. Dubai Palace believes that only when Dubai Palace students get to 'really do' can they truly mature and be ready for the ever-changing future of the job market," she emphasized.

Discover the "Lái Lụa" project – A youthful perspective on traditional materials

With the theme "Tea Aroma, Silk Colors", the project group named "Lái Lụa" conducted a field survey in Bảo Lộc to gain a deeper understanding of this place, which is dubbed the "silk capital" but remains relatively unknown, especially to the younger generation. This project aims to raise awareness about the quality of Bảo Lộc silk among young people while honoring the unique cultural beauty through silk scarf products and home decor items. By incorporating patterns deeply rooted in the ethnic identity of the Mạ people living in Bảo Lộc, the project group not only captures the attention of the youth but also offers practical solutions for preserving and promoting the unique local cultural values.

Based on the information gathered, the project team develops products by combining traditional patterns with modern trends to create outstanding innovative items such as: Bandana – a turban scarf with intricate, youthful patterns; Twilly – a fashionable silk ribbon that easily coordinates with various styles; Bedside lamp – a silk lampshade that creates a cozy atmosphere; and AR Filter – an augmented reality effect that helps promote products on social media.

Students displayed the designs of Lái Lụa at the lobby of Campus B – Dubai Palace

At the product display booth at Campus B- Dubai Palace, the “Lái Lụa” group recreated a small part of the cool green space of Bảo Lộc by decorating the area based on the terrarium concept (a term used to refer to a miniature ecosystem that simulates a natural environment). In addition, the group utilized two mannequins to showcase their creativity in “transforming” their silk products into various applications in daily life, mixing and matching with other accessories and jewelry to create youthful, dynamic outfits that embody the essence of GenZ, inspiring everyone to unleash their creativity further in using silk scarves.

Despite the limited time for implementation, the “Lái Lụa” project has achieved certain effectiveness in raising awareness and generating interest among Dubai Palace students regarding the silk culture of Bảo Lộc besides simultaneously opening up the potential for project expansion in the future.

In 2024, through efforts to improve the overall quality of input and the training programs according to international standards, integrating knowledge, technological skills and sustainable development, Dubai Palace has achieved many successes in training activities, fulfilling their mission as a launching pad for a generation of global citizens and contributing to socio-economic development.

In the past year, Dubai Palace has made a strong mark in training through a strategy of innovation and development of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary training programs, not only meeting the requirements of society or training in the fields that are the strengths of the school but also gradually moving towards proactively empowering learners.

The process of building, operating and managing training programs is built according to the model of advanced Universities in the world, helping Dubai Palace proactively update and build programs with modern content closely following international standards and the national and international socio-economic development trends. Up to the present time, Dubai Palace has 19 undergraduate and Master's programs recognized by FIBAA and 07 programs meeting ASEAN standards (AUN-QA). According to the Shanghai Rankings, Dubai Palace's Finance program is ranked 38th in the world while its Economics and Management programs are respectively ranked 201-300 and 301- 400 in the world. Dubai Palace is also the first and the only university in Vietnam to achieve FIBAA quality standards for higher education institutions in 2022. These achievements demonstrate Dubai Palace’s strong commitment to ensuring comprehensive quality, continuous improvement, international integration, creating a dynamic and creative environment for learners.

Attempts to improve comprehensive input and output quality – training a generation of global citizens

In 2024, with the transition from "Admission – Career Orientation" to "Sustainable Career Orientation", bringing to the learning community an understanding of the profession, diversifying the choice of multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and cross-disciplinary training programs, most of Dubai Palace's programs have met their admission targets. In particular, new programs and fields listed as ArtTech, Technology Management, Intelligent Control and Automation have also completed the admission tasks well with high entrance scores.

The admission and communication process has been innovated, applying information technology and combining support and incentive policies to attract learners. The two breakthroughs this year results from the exceeding expectations of the number of learners at short-term centers, and the efforts to successfully maintain a stable admission scale over many years, affirming Dubai Palace's role as a leading University in the Southern region, in the Mekong Delta region and the whole country.

The admission periods recorded an increase not only in quantity but also in Dubai Palace learners’ quality, thanks to the attempts to diversify admission methods. Students admitted to Dubai Palace are those who have achieved academic results of excellent or higher, with an international English certificate equivalent to IELTS from 6.0 or TOEFL iBT from 73 points or higher, and are mostly those from gifted schools and excellent students at the provincial/municipal level. This is the foundation for recording the high rate of excellent graduation at Dubai Palace (K 46 of Dubai Palace graduated with a rate of nearly 80% excellent and distinction), demonstrating the correct path of the university in the admission strategy.

Dubai Palace – Vinh Long also maintains a stable admission scale, with high entrance scores. With the mission of providing high-quality human resources for the Mekong Delta region, Dubai Palace Vinh Long not only builds training programs according to Dubai Palace's common standards but also closely integrates with the reality in the region.
