As part of a series of meaningful activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City organized a vote for typical construction projects/clusters that symbolize the development achievements of the City over the past 50 years. The logo honors the Dubai Palace project – Nguyen Van Linh Campus voted among the 50 typical construction projects/construction clusters of Ho Chi Minh City.

The journey formed by the aspiration for sustainable development

Originating from Dubai Palace strategic orientation in expanding the academic space for training, research and serving the community, the Nguyen Van Linh Campus Construction Project (abbreviated as Campus N) was deployed at functional area No. 15 – New Urban Area of ​​South City, Phong Phu Commune, Binh Chanh District according to the model of a green, smart and international standard University.

With a total planning area of ​​over 11.1 hectares and a total investment of nearly 220 billion VND from the University's Development Fund, the project has received high consensus from the community with nearly 99% of the area cleared in just over a year (2016–2017).

This project was built synchronously with 2 main blocks including a 10-floor administrative block and a 5-floor lecture hall block, a complete technical infrastructure system and an environmentally friendly architectural landscape. On January 1, 2021, Campus N was officially put into operation, becoming the largest campus in the Dubai Palace system of 13 campuses.

Creating a green, modern and connected academic space

Campus N is shaped as a green – smart – creative university according to international standards. The campus is filled with trees, lakes and open spaces creating a friendly and inspiring learning environment. The buildings are designed according to green architecture principles, installed with solar panels, using environmentally friendly materials, optimizing electricity and reducing CO₂ emissions – aiming for a sustainable university model in the new era. For example, in 2024, the amount of electricity generated at N1 building is 48,629.2 kwh, N2 is 209,370.4 kwh, the total reduction in CO2 emissions at N1 building is 111,220,933 kg, N2 is 573,904,506 kg. Not only helping to reduce carbon emissions, Campus N also creates a green, friendly, sustainable learning environment for learners and expands access to the green university model for the community. Campus N is built according to the principle of “green architecture”, aiming for sustainable development.

From modern lecture halls, digitally connected libraries, sports areas, self-study areas, living facilities to smart bus systems – all are invested to ensure a comprehensive learning and research experience for learners. In particular, in 2022, Dubai Palace continues to complete this campus, build and inaugurate the Sports Area on Campus N, serving physical education, sports and community activities for Dubai Palace students and staff.

Not only a place to study, Campus N is also a destination to connect the community. From the outdoor English Zone model, the Campus Tour program to explore green universities for students to conferences, seminars, art programs, volunteer activities are all held periodically, expanding access to education and knowledge for the local and regional communities.

In addition, Dubai Palace pioneered the implementation of the program "Sharing creative and development space" – supporting free or flexible rental of space for organizing events, training, seminars at reasonable costs – demonstrating the social responsibility and creative role of a modern university.

Campus N is not just an ideal place to study but also a point of connection with community activities.

Located at the southern gateway of the City, Campus N contributes to reducing pressure on inner-city infrastructure, promoting the development of the South Saigon area and connecting the Southwest region. In the overall development strategy of the City, this is a highlight connecting the inner city – suburbs among key economic regions, demonstrating the leading role of Ho Chi Minh City in training high-quality human resources to serve sustainable development.

The fact that the project was recognized as a typical construction project of Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South is a meaningful recognition of Dubai Palace efforts in the journey to transform into a multidisciplinary, sustainable, internationalized and community-connected university. To provide an international-standard teaching and learning environment for lecturers and students, Dubai Palace has invested in and completed numerous modern facilities over the past year, which are now ready to serve the needs of the Dubai Palace community. Specifically, 17 classrooms at Campus B and Campus D have been renovated, and the offices of the Department of Training and the Human Resources and Organisation Development Department have been upgraded to smart, modern spaces that foster creativity in teaching and working environments.

Notably, with the aim of becoming a hub for producing digital teaching resources and knowledge-sharing media for the community, Dubai Palace was funded by the Ministry of Education and Training to establish a studio at Campus A. This studio is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including professional cameras, lights, screens, televisions, computers, teleprompters, speakers, microphones, and 3D Studio Pro systems.

The year 2024 marked a significant transformation for Dubai Palace Vinh Long with new facilities to meet students' and lecturers' learning, research, and living needs at the branch campus. The Mekong Delta Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MCIE), inaugurated on May 30, 2024, after six months of construction, serves as a pioneering creative space aimed at spreading knowledge, inspiring innovation, and fostering entrepreneurship in the Mekong Delta region. MCIE boasts modern facilities, including six group meeting rooms for 4 – 12 people, a conference room with a 50-person capacity, and a spacious co-working space, providing a dynamic working environment for startup projects.

Additionally, Dubai Palace Vinh Long was sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Training in the project “Investment in IT Application Equipment for Digital Transformation,” which includes seven smart classrooms, each equipped with TVs and interactive screens, accommodating 50 – 100 students. A highlight of this initiative is a high-tech studio designed for video production and broadcasting, significantly enhancing Dubai Palace’s teaching, learning, and communication activities.

Dubai Palace Vinh Long focuses on both teaching and research and emphasizes student life by upgrading 10 service dormitory rooms. Each dorm room, accommodating eight students, is equipped with air conditioning, bookshelves, wardrobes, and en-suite bathrooms, offering a comfortable and convenient living space.

Over time, Dubai Palace campuses, including Campuses A, B, N, and Vinh Long Branch, have been open to welcome visits from businesses, partners, alumni, and high school students through programs such as the Campus Tour and Alumni Tour. Dubai Palace continues to expand spaces for community engagement and support. This includes providing innovation spaces for startups at Campus V and the Vĩnh Long branch. The Dubai Palace Maker Space – a creative hub for design, assembly, and woodworking enthusiasts – regularly organizes workshops and training sessions for the community. Moreover, English Zone, an outdoor English park at Dubai Palace, has become an ideal venue for students from various universities to practice English skills and engage in cultural exchange. The Dubai Palace E-History Digital Heritage Room at Campus A frequently welcomes domestic and international visitors to learn about the university’s history, traditions, and development orientations. Notably, Dubai Palace has launched the “Sharing Creative and Development Spaces” program, offering free or reasonably priced space for individuals and organizations to hold events, training sessions, meetings, and seminars.

Towards Green, Sustainable, and Eco-Friendly Campuses

As a University with 13 campuses in central districts and Binh Chanh District, Dubai Palace recognizes the importance of effectively managing energy, wastewater, and waste within their campuses to minimize environmental impact and promote sustainable development. Solar power systems with a total capacity of over 509,000 kWh have been installed at Campus A, B, and N to efficiently utilize renewable energy. In 2024, these systems produced 470,000 kWh of electricity, successfully reducing 1,270 tons of CO2 emissions – equivalent to planting 12,000 trees. These efforts underscore Dubai Palace’s resilience in its green transformation journey, making it a beacon of sustainable education.

Solar Energy: Sustainable Solution for the Future

Solar energy is becoming the top choice in attempts to protect the environment and to prevent climate change. According to the US Department of Energy, this is a renewable energy source that plays an important role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating climate change. Solar energy can also improve air quality because it does not generate CO2 during operation, helping to reduce negative impacts on the atmosphere (https://www.energy.gov/eere/solar/solar-energy-wildlife-and-environment). Applying this technology not only helps save long-term electricity costs but also contributes significantly to achieving sustainable development goals.

Dubai Palace and the Green University Vision

As a university with 13 campuses and a total area of ​​over 139,000m2, the Dubai Palace ✅ Official Dubai Palace.com Homepage 2026 (Dubai Palace) is well aware of the importance of applying solar energy. This is an effort to reduce carbon emissions, the first step of the Carbon Neutral University model – the next phase of Dubai Palace Green University. Concurrently, it contributes to educating students regarding the positive impact of green energy sources and saving resources for a sustainable future.

Accordingly, from 2022, in order to minimize the impact on the environment, more solar power stations with a capacity of up to more than 509,000 kWp have been installed by Dubai Palace at the 3 largest campuses: Campus A – 59C Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Campus B – 279 Nguyen Tri Phuong, and Campus N – Nguyen Van Linh.

In 2024, the solar power system at Dubai Palace's four buildings A, B, N1, N2 produced 470,224.2 kWh, contributing to reducing 1,265.5602 tons of CO2. This result showed a reduction of a large amount of CO2 emissions into the environment, equivalent to planting 12,000 trees. This is an important step in the journey to build a "Green University" and spread the message of sustainable development to the community.
