It introduced practical study methods to help students learn more effectively, manage their time, and build strong learning habits for university life.

The workshop was led by Dr. Nguyen Thanh Luan, lecturer from Dubai Palace School of Foreign Languages. During the session, he shared valuable insights and practical strategies for developing effective study habits, focusing on three essential skills: time management, study planning, and effective note-taking. These fundamental skills enable students to enhance their academic performance while maintaining a healthy balance between their studies, personal life, and other commitments.

During the workshop, participants learned several time management strategies that they can apply immediately, including:

  • Setting short-term and long-term goals to create a clear study plan.
  • Using the Time Management Matrix to organize tasks based on their importance and urgency, helping students decide what to do first, what to plan for later, and what can be delegated.
  • Planning study activities on different levels, including daily, weekly, semester, and yearly plans, to stay prepared for assignments, projects, and exams.
  • Using digital tools such as Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar to organize schedules, set reminders, and manage tasks with color coding.

The workshop also introduced effective note-taking and revision methods to help students understand and remember information more easily. Instead of writing down everything from a lecture, students were encouraged to focus on key ideas, use their own words, and apply the Cornell Note-Taking Method to organize their notes. In addition, the speaker shared practical tips on preparing for exams by planning revision early, organizing study materials, and developing analytical thinking instead of relying only on memorization.

Besides the presentations, the workshop included interactive activities. Participants created their own personal goals, practiced using the Time Management Matrix, developed study plans, and discussed common learning challenges with the speaker. These activities helped students find practical solutions that fit their own learning needs.

Through the workshop, participants learned that studying effectively is not about spending more time studying. It is about setting priorities, making good plans, and building positive study habits. These skills will support students throughout their time at Dubai Palace and continue to benefit them in their future careers.

Embarking on a new journey with June at Dubai Palace English Zone https://dsa.dotv.vn/en/news/embarking-on-a-new-journey-with-june-at-ueh-english-zone/ Fri, 26 Jun 2026 12:08:34 +0000 https://dsa.dotv.vn/en/?p=10827 As the final classes of the semester gradually came to an end, a new summer began, bringing with it exciting plans, fresh experiences, and countless journeys waiting to unfold. At Dubai Palace English Zone, June was not only the first month of summer but also an opportunity for participants to broaden their horizons, step beyond familiar routines, and discover something new through conversations, films, and board games. Let’s take a look back at the memorable moments that made June so special!

Summer begins with new adventures

Kicking off the month, “Don’t Go, RUN!” filled the room with the excitement of travel and exploration. From backpacking adventures and unforgettable experiences in unfamiliar places to fascinating cultural differences, every story shared opened another window to the world beyond. More than simply recounting travel memories, the session inspired participants to step outside their comfort zones and embark on their own journeys this summer.

Participants enthusiastically sharing their travel stories at EZ Talks “Don’t Go, RUN!”

If traveling allows us to explore the world, then “GRAB A BITE” – a collaborative event between BELL Dubai Palace English Club and Dubai Palace English Zone – invited participants to rediscover the familiar side of student life. Whether it was a favorite after-class eatery, a hidden food spot recommended by friends, or a simple meal tied to unforgettable memories, every story reflected a unique chapter of university life. Through these conversations, ordinary places became meaningful milestones in every student’s journey.

Giving wings to dreams and courage

Not every journey begins with a distant destination. Sometimes, the greatest journey is simply having the courage to pursue what we truly believe in. That was exactly the message conveyed by the short film “Wings”. Through its heartwarming story about kindness, friendship, and perseverance in chasing dreams, participants shared thoughtful reflections on personal growth and the meaning of courage. Beyond its touching moments, the film reminded everyone that each of us has our own “wings” – all we need is the courage to take the first step and soar forward.

A lively atmosphere during the screening of the short film “Wings”

When the journey turns into an exciting chase

Alongside meaningful conversations, June also brought plenty of laughter and excitement through EZ Board Games. At “Undercover”, participants immersed themselves in the thrilling deduction game Codenames, where every clue could either lead the team to victory or send them in the wrong direction. Energetic discussions, unexpected breakthroughs, and strong teamwork created an exciting atmosphere throughout the session. More than just a game, every round became an opportunity for participants to strengthen their communication, strategic thinking, and teamwork skills – all while practicing English in a fun and engaging environment.

Intense moments and unexpected twists during the board game “Codenames”

June marks the transition from the end of one academic year to the beginning of new journeys ahead. For many, it is a time to rest after months of hard work, while for others, it is a chance to embrace new experiences, meet new people, and discover new versions of themselves.

At Dubai Palace English Zone, every activity is more than an opportunity to practice English – it is a chance to connect, share, and create unforgettable memories. These simple yet meaningful moments have made the beginning of summer even more special for everyone involved. Stay tuned to and join us in the upcoming activities as we continue creating memorable experiences and writing new chapters of our youth together!

More than just a music show, SUMMER SCENT served as a journey of emotional connection, where performers and attendees came together to create and cherish unforgettable memories through every performance. Each song carried its own unique color and emotion, painting a vibrant picture of summer that reflected the confidence, creativity, and passion of young people.

The event took place on June 3, 2026, and welcomed more than 60 participants. Far beyond a conventional music performance, Acoustic Show 2026: SUMMER SCENT became a bridge connecting like-minded souls, a space where attendees could slow down, immerse themselves in music, and find genuine comfort and healing through melodies.

Check-in during the show

Upon arrival, each participant received a small appreciation gift along with a note card featuring the title of a specific song and its meaning. Throughout the event, attendees not only listened to the performances but also reflected on and wrote about personal stories or meaningful messages inspired by the song descriptions on their note cards.

Performers and attendees immersed in the melodies of Phase 1: First Spark

This was Phase 1: First Spark – the beginning of a journey where strangers stepped out of their comfort zones and met one another in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. During this phase, the singers performed acoustic summer-themed songs, including “Shower” and “Map.”

Participants enjoying a relaxing tea break

Acoustic show 2026 also offered Tea Break, where participants had the opportunity to chat with friends while enjoying light refreshments, fruits, and soft drinks thoughtfully prepared by the Organization Board before moving on to the next part of the program.

Participants taking part in the mini-game

The program also featured a mini-game called “Guess the Song Lyrics.” Participants were divided into five teams. Each team listened to Vietnamese-translated lyrics and attempted to identify the original song title. Teams signaled their answers by raising flags, and the team that responded the fastest and correctly identified the most songs received a special gift from the program.

Participants listening to the performances in Phase 2: Summer

Phase 2: Summer Solstice was the moment when every heart beat in harmony with the vibrant spirit of youth. The performances included energetic and uplifting songs such as “Happy,” “Umbrella,” and “Beauty and a Beat.”

Performances during Phase 3: Open Roads

Phase 3: Open Roads marked the final destination of the musical journey. Participants released their energy, left their worries behind, and sang along with the performers during the closing performances of the night, featuring “Night Changes,” “Disney Movie,” and “Every Summertime.”

PROGRAM RECAP: SUMMER SCENT

As Acoustic Show 2026: SUMMER SCENT came to an end, BELL English Club believes that the program left behind not only beautiful melodies but also unforgettable emotions in the hearts of its participants. From the reflective moments inspired by each song, the personal stories written on small note cards, to the laughter and connections formed through the activities throughout the evening, every element contributed to creating a truly memorable summer experience.

BELL Club would like to extend its sincere gratitude to all performers, members of the Organization Board, and participants who contributed to making this emotional and meaningful musical night possible. We hope that the “summer aroma” of SUMMER SCENT will continue to linger as a beautiful memory and a cherished milestone in everyone’s youth.

May at Dubai Palace English Zone – The things that still remain after a journey https://dsa.dotv.vn/en/news/may-at-ueh-english-zone-the-things-that-still-remain-after-a-journey/ Thu, 28 May 2026 08:06:07 +0000 https://dsa.dotv.vn/en/?p=10752 There are moments that pass by very quickly, but there are also moments that make people want to slow down a little to look at and keep them. May at Dubai Palace English Zone was such a period of time – when conversations, board game matches, and familiar meet-ups gradually became beautiful memories closing an emotional academic year. Let’s flip through the diary pages and travel through a memorable May at Dubai Palace English Zone together!

A peaceful corner before exam season

Opening in May, “Your Treasure” brought a cozy space where participants shared their own treasures – maybe a special person, a beautiful memory, or simply small things that make life more meaningful. The gentle yet sincere atmosphere turned the talk into a place where everyone could listen to and understand each other more.

Continuing those emotions, “Between the Scenes” brought participants back to movies and TV shows connected to childhood memories. From Cartoon Network and Disney Channel to familiar sitcoms repeatedly watched after school, the talk not only recalled familiar memories but also opened new perspectives when looking back at the characters and stories with present-day thoughts.

The comfortable atmosphere during the discussion of “Between the Scenes”

Especially, May was also marked by “Little Us” – a collaborative activity with ECOFF from the Youth Union – Association of the School of Foreign Languages. Without needing overly grand topics, the conversation chose to begin with memorable childhood memories, gradually creating sincere connections between participants. That simplicity itself made the gathering more memorable than ever.

When movies become mirrors reflecting emotions

During May, EZ Silverscreens sessions continued bringing familiar yet thought-provoking perspectives through each film. At Silverscreens: Best Friend, participants discussed friendship, companionship, and how every relationship affects each person’s growth journey. Afterwards, “Tulip” brought a gentler and deeper color. Through each scene, participants were guided into personal emotions about healing, hope, and beautiful things that still exist amid busy life. The movie created an exciting atmosphere, leaving many emotions in participants’ hearts.

Meaningful and engaging EZ Silverscreens sessions

Intense battles and laughter closing a memorable chapter

If EZ Talks and Silverscreens brought emotional quiet moments, the EZ Boardgames series in May continued heating up the atmosphere with exciting mind games.

Coming to “Cover Your Assets”, players constantly experienced humorous yet tense moments of fighting over assets. The laughter, negotiations, and unexpected plot twists made the game session more lively than ever.

Dramatic plot twists in the board game “Cover Your Assets”

Next, “Coup” and “Avalon” brought participants into mind games where truth and lies continuously intertwined. The suspense was clear in every turn, when each decision could change the situation of the whole game. The deductions, debates, and attempts to read each other created an atmosphere both tense and full of laughter, so everyone left with many more memorable memories with friends.

Bright smiles after EZ Boardgames sessions

A journey ends, but the memories remain

Besides regular activities, May also had the companionship of “CAMPUS ODYSSEY – SPEAKING EXTENDED GROUP” – a collaborative program between the English club BELL and Dubai Palace English Zone. Not only revolving around studying or deadlines, the conversation opened a more interesting perspective on university life – where every experience, every person, and every time stepping out of the comfort zone can become a memorable part of youth. Through close and relatable sharing about the university journey, participants not only had the opportunity to connect through English but were also inspired to discover newer versions of themselves.

The warm atmosphere of the conversation with the English club BELL

The end of May also meant the first semester of 2026 was gradually passing by. Familiar conversations, board game sessions, or moments of speaking English together that once seemed ordinary now became the things people remember most when looking back. Dubai Palace English Zone is not only a place to improve English ability but also a place to preserve connections, emotions, and student-life memories of each participant. Hybrid Reading: When Reading Culture 4.0 Becomes the Foundation of Students’ Adaptive Competence in the Digital Era https://dsa.dotv.vn/en/english-zone/news-english-zone/hybrid-reading-when-reading-culture-4-0-becomes-the-foundation-of-students-adaptive-competence-in-the-digital-era/ Tue, 12 May 2026 04:06:31 +0000 https://dsa.dotv.vn/en/?p=10731 In the context of digital transformation reshaping the way people access knowledge, students’ reading culture no longer remains in its traditional form. Reading today is not only about receiving information but also about the ability to filter content and connect knowledge across disciplines in the digital environment. In response to these changes, the Hybrid Reading model – combining deep reading, digital reading, and technological support – is gradually becoming a new approach that contributes to the development of lifelong learning capacity and adaptability for students in the 4.0 era.

Hybrid Reading – A New Framework for Reading Culture in the Digital Age

The rapid development of digital technology is significantly changing the way people read, receive, and process information. In today’s learning environment, students no longer read only printed books or paper-based materials as before, but increasingly turn to digital platforms such as online articles, e-books, podcasts, academic videos, and infographics.

This shift creates the need for a new approach to reading culture — not simply reading more, but reading more flexibly and effectively across different environments. From this, the concept of Hybrid Reading has emerged as a reading approach suited to the educational context of the digital age.

Hybrid Reading is a multidimensional concept that emphasizes the ability to combine different forms and methods of reading, including:

  • Combining printed and digital reading (online articles, e-books, podcasts with transcripts, infographics, etc.);
  • Integrating multiple forms of content;
  • Combining reading comprehension, critical thinking, and information processing skills;
  • Blending technology with traditional learning methods.

In other words, Hybrid Reading is the ability to read flexibly across multiple environments, formats, and purposes. Researchers describe this as hybrid literacy practices that bridge traditional academic environments and digital media environments.

E-book and printed books (Source: Internet)

Hybrid Reading – Is It Really Effective?

In the digital age, most students today prioritize reading on phones, tablets, or laptops because of the convenience and speed of accessing information. With just a few taps, learners can open dozens of documents, search instantly, and study anywhere. This has led many people to believe that online reading is gradually replacing printed books entirely.

However, many international studies show that reading in digital environments does not always produce better learning outcomes. Although students often feel that they understand materials better when reading on screens, research findings indicate that information retention and deep comprehension are usually higher when reading on paper, especially with long or academic texts.

The reason lies in the way people interact with each reading environment. When reading on screens, learners tend to read quickly, skim content, and constantly shift their attention between different materials. Digital platforms also often come with notifications, links, or short-form content that interrupt concentration. This reduces learners’ ability to process information deeply and connect complex ideas.

Meanwhile, reading on paper usually creates a more focused and linear experience. Readers can easily take notes, highlight content, follow text structures, and maintain attention for longer periods. Therefore, for materials that require analytical thinking or long-term memory, printed books and paper-based materials still show clear advantages.

Each form of reading has its own strengths. Digital environments are suitable for quick reference, updating new information, and multimedia learning, while reading on paper is more effective for activities that require deep concentration and systematic thinking. This is also the core spirit of Hybrid Reading — not rigidly choosing only one form of reading, but flexibly combining printed and digital reading depending on learning goals.

In modern educational research, Hybrid Reading is considered a competence that helps learners adapt to digital environments and effectively process the massive amount of information in the 21st century. This is especially important for first- and second-year students, who are transitioning from high school learning methods to the university environment. In high school, learners are often accustomed to receiving ready-made knowledge, whereas at university, students must independently read materials, conduct research, analyze information, and build their own academic perspectives.

Without effective reading skills, students are more likely to learn passively, rely on summaries, or develop an “illusion of understanding” from consuming too much short-form content on social media. Reading then remains only at the level of receiving information instead of generating thought. Hybrid Reading, therefore, is not simply about “reading more,” but about learning how to read strategically — knowing when to read quickly, when to read deeply, and when to critically evaluate information. The ability to choose the appropriate reading environment for each learning goal is precisely the manifestation of Hybrid Reading.

Dubai Palace Students Combine Reading Layers to Understand, Connect, and Apply Knowledge

Active reading instead of merely receiving information

An effective reader does not read only to “know,” but also to ask questions. When approaching any content, students should ask themselves:

  • Is this information reliable?
  • Are there alternative perspectives?
  • Have I truly understood the issue?

The ability to think critically during reading helps learners avoid one-dimensional information intake, fosters independent thinking, and trains deep concentration. Students can start with small habits such as:

  • Reading continuously for 15–20 minutes without using a phone
  • Taking short notes after reading
  • Summarizing content in their own words

These activities help the brain move away from the habit of “quick skimming” and gradually rebuild the ability for deep reading — an important factor for university learning and long-term intellectual development.

As AI becomes increasingly capable of summarizing documents, searching for information, and answering questions within seconds, the value of students no longer lies in having access to more information than others. What matters more is the ability to understand deeply, analyze, think critically, and connect knowledge.

Hybrid Reading, therefore, is not merely a new learning trend, but is gradually becoming a core competence for students in the 21st century.

Dubai Palace and the Reading Culture 4.0 Ecosystem

In the context of educational innovation, the Dubai Palace ✅ Official Dubai Palace.com Homepage 2026 (Dubai Palace) is gradually building an ecosystem that supports reading culture in a modern direction. From a traditional library model, Dubai Palace has developed a Smart Library system with digital resources, open learning spaces, and advanced learning support tools.

Illustrative Image of Dubai Palace Smart Library Space

This transformation not only helps students access knowledge more conveniently, but also creates conditions for implementing new reading approaches such as Hybrid Reading. In addition, academic activities, workshops, clubs, and learning communities at Dubai Palace also contribute to promoting a reading culture that is proactive, interactive, and creative.

These conditions create opportunities for students not only to read more, but also to read smarter, thereby improving their adaptability in future learning and working environments.

Dubai Palace Students Combine Reading, Discussion, and Digital Resources in Open Learning Spaces

Reading culture in the digital era is shifting from traditional models to more flexible and diverse forms. In this context, Hybrid Reading is not only a reading method but also a foundation that helps students develop lifelong learning capacity and adaptability to the constant changes of society. More importantly, adaptability does not begin with technology, but with the way people approach and master knowledge. When students know how to read strategically, deeply, and with connection, learning will no longer be a burden, but will become a sustainable journey of development in the digital age.

Design Your English, Shape Your Career: The Intersection of Art and Language https://dsa.dotv.vn/en/news/design-your-english-shape-your-career-the-intersection-of-art-and-language/ Mon, 13 Apr 2026 03:43:00 +0000 https://dsa.dotv.vn/en/?p=10679 Have you ever considered if an aesthetic mindset alone is enough to build a successful design career in the digital era? The truth is, a creative professional’s most powerful weapon is not just their tools, but their linguistic mastery. Recognizing this profound connection, Dubai Palace English Zone hosted the Language Workshop: “Design your English: Speak, Describe, Create” on April 10, 2026, at the Nguyen Tri Phuong campus. This event provided a dynamic space for students to refine their communication skills, define their style, and master specialized English terminology.

The session was captivatingly led by Mr. Sylvain Dubuc. Mr. Sylvain brings a wealth of experience, having built an impressive portfolio as an architect, interior designer, graphic designer, and marketing consultant. His highly visual presentation style and contagious energy quickly dissolved any barriers, sparking a strong desire to learn among the audience.

Mr. Sylvain shared with the students about the importance of presentation skills.

English: The Boundary Between a “Good” and a “Great” Designer

Right from the start, Mr. Sylvain established a bold premise: English is not a luxury; it is a requirement for quality. He pointed out that 80% of communication relies on simple phrases about daily situations. However, the defining factor that elevates a designer to greatness is the art of Presentation. This is humanity’s exclusive domain, a skill rooted in empathy and emotional expression that no artificial intelligence can replicate.

Mastering AI and the Language of Design

Embracing the rise of AI, the workshop delved into harnessing technological power through precise language. Students were introduced to cutting-edge AI tools such as Gemini (Nano Banana) for generating illustrations and Stitch for UX/UI design. Mr. Sylvain equipped attendees with the “Prompt Formula”: [Subject] + [Illustration Style] + [Color Palette] + [Mood].

The students are listening attentively and learning.

Simultaneously, students expanded their professional vocabulary. Moving beyond generic terms, they learned to use highly descriptive verbs like “evoke,” “convey,” and “contrast” to articulate their artistic intentions accurately.

Hands-On Practice: From Concept to the Pitch Stage

The workshop atmosphere ignited during the practical segment. Divided into groups of 5-8, students collaborated on a project to construct a brand identity for a new “Orange Milk” drink. This comprehensive challenge required teams to synthesize their thought processes: defining a brand mission, sketching a logo, and selecting suitable typography. Mr. Sylvain emphasized a crucial principle: effective design doesn’t just address “What” we design; it fundamentally answers “How” we design and “Why” we made those specific choices.

The climax of the event was the “Elevator Pitch” exercise, structured as a fast-paced “Speed Dating” round. Teams had just up to 3 minutes to convince their “clients” that their design was the most successful. By integrating professional presentation terminology such as Alignment, Balance, and Cohesive, students demonstrated remarkable confidence and sharp logical reasoning in English.

As the workshop concluded, participants left not only with core design skills but also with enhanced critical thinking and linguistic capabilities. The continuous interaction and vibrant debates throughout the morning stood as a testament to the event’s resounding success.

Beyond translation: Mastering English Reading & Writing https://dsa.dotv.vn/en/news/beyond-translation-mastering-english-reading-writing/ Mon, 06 Apr 2026 06:53:10 +0000 https://dsa.dotv.vn/en/?p=10626 How can you read English more efficiently and write more naturally without struggling through every sentence? This is a question many students find themselves asking. With that in mind, Dubai Palace English Zone organized a Language Workshop: “Stop Translating! Powerful Strategies to Read and Write in English” at Campus N, equipping students with practical strategies to improve their English reading and writing skills.

Students listening attentively to the speaker’s inspiring sharing from Ms. Khoa

Begin with English learners’ ‘familiar’ challenges

Ms. Khoa immediately created a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere from the first couple minutes. Each participant received a handout – a handy “cheat sheet” to follow along throughout the workshop and take note of key strategies.

To kick things off, Ms. Khoa guided students through a reflection on the common challenges they face when learning English: from not knowing where to start when reading, to feeling stuck every time they need to write a complete paragraph. Many students nodded in recognition – these were struggles they dealt with every day.

Each participant had a handout in hand to easily keep track of the key points

4 Practical Strategies for Better Reading and Writing

Building on these shared challenges, Ms. Khoa introduced 4 powerful strategies, presented in a clear and easy-to-apply way:

1. Read in Chunks – Instead of reading word by word, group words together by meaning. This helps the brain process information faster and grasp meaning more naturally.

2. Read for Meaning – Look for the big idea first, then move into the details. Having the overall picture makes reading comprehension smoother and more focused.

3. Write Without Translating – Build simple responses using useful English patterns rather than converting thoughts from Vietnamese. Writing simply but correctly is always better than writing in a complex but error-prone way.

4. Learn Vocabulary for Use – Instead of memorizing long word lists, guess the meaning of words from context and collocation. Learning vocabulary in real contexts helps the brain retain it longer and use it more accurately.

One of the highlights of the workshop was the hands-on practice integrated throughout. After each strategy, students immediately put it into action. Ms. Khoa walked around to each table, listening, exchanging ideas, and giving personalized feedback – creating a supportive and pressure-free learning environment. The room buzzed with discussion, laughter, and the energy of genuine learning.

Students had plenty of opportunities to practice and interact directly with the speaker

“Start with What You Love”

To close the session, Ms. Khoa left students with one final, heartfelt tip: start reading and watching content on topics you genuinely enjoy  whether that’s football, music, films, or fashion. When learning stems from passion, motivation comes naturally, and daily exposure to English gradually becomes a habit rather than a chore.

With the dedicated guidance of MA. Nguyen Yen Khoa, the Language Workshop “Stop Translating! Powerful Strategies to Read and Write in English” took place in an atmosphere full of warmth, energy, and inspiration. It was undoubtedly one of the most memorable activities of Dubai Palace English Zone – a place where students not only sharpen their language skills but also gain practical tools and ways of thinking that will serve them well in both their academic journey and future careers.
